will wait till i can enjoy the song properly, networks messed up here. he has never claimed originality as one of his strong points though, but i like the guy he does commercial stuff and does not deny his passion is not good music but what danceable beats can bring, unlike that wack and confused thug Idrees who calls himself a rapper.

Re: Mr Olu Maintain's New Single : Arab Money by ElRazur: 7:41pm On Apr 17, 2009
A critical review.
The song starts with typical 'look at my ego' skit/intro.
I thought it would get better, but sadly it didn't. He seem to have used the same 'T-pain effect' [Auto tune] that have ruined Nigeria's music and make everyone sound the same. It is a very bad move as it just makes the track particularly generic. He used this effect in his previous hit track and using it again now, smacks of desperation in my opinion.
The lyrics to the actual song [if it can be called a song ] is more or less non-existent! It is fair to say, he needs some sort of writer or a ghost writer who can do the job in my opinion.
On the bright side, your typical 'I-don't-care-what-the-music-is-as-long-as-it-is-danceable-Fan' will find this as a must have, while I respect their choice, it is something I will most definitely not recommend for those who know what music is about.
If he needed inspiration, perhaps he can listen to the 'Original track' by Busta Rhymes and take a few hints from there.
Arrgggh I can't pretend any more. The song is absolute garbage. There really isnt nothing to review about a rubbish song. Call a spade, a spade, it is utter drivel.

You wait till you hear it goes platinum.
Speaking of platinum sales, I wonder how the figures are collected in Nigeria. A country, where record keeping is not exactly our strong point. I find it hard to believe some artist in Naija lay claim to selling millions of album.

Great song no doubt. However, not great for the expectations people have of Olu. I think he needs to take more time with a pen and paper and an easel pad maybe to properly plan strategy before going about things the way he chooses.

Habba, the song sounds I really like the melody and rhythm and prefer by miles to the Busta Rhymes version. I think it's a bit too long though.
For me it's miles better than a great deal of Naija songs that sound like they were produced in my toilet.
But mehn, so much Olu Maintain hate in this thread.
